[X] Helen - Session#62 Transcript

Dr. Fletcher

(writing notes) Betsy Skeen wrote on www.helpmypatients.com: "Helen needs to be more honest with herself and the people around her. Tell her that no matter what she's going through, she should be open with everyone she cares about."

Helen

So there's this guy whom I'm really into and I really like him. We went on this date and it was great. But my feelings for him I've found are just very complicated. And I don't know what I should do about these feelings.

I really like him and I feel like I want to be like - I want to acquire his attributes.

Dr. Fletcher

You know, you should really just tell him how you feel.

Helen

Really?

Dr. Fletcher

Yeah

Helen

I don't know. I'm kind of worried because I really like him but I feel the need to merge with him and strangle him.

Dr. Fletcher

You should just tell him that. You should really tell him how you're feeling.

Helen

You don't think he would take it the wrong way?

Dr. Fletcher

How long have you been seeing him?

Helen

It's been about a week and a half. Almost two weeks, really.

Dr. Fletcher

You know what, you should tell him exactly how you're feeling.

Helen

Really? I mean, it's just that these feelings are so complicated. It would be so hard to describe. I really like him and I have really strong feelings for him but I find that on the same level I want to be him and be a part of him and destroy him.

Dr. Fletcher

Yeah. Well, you should tell him all of that.

Helen

You think I should tell him?

Dr. Fletcher

Yeah. You should tell him just what you're telling me.
