Helen

I've been having these dreams recently, incessantly, repeating every single night. And they're very troubling. The way that the dreams happen is that I'm in my home and I start cooking all these objects in my house. I'll boil a pair of scissors. I'll take my hairbrush and put it in the over. One by one I will systematically cook everything in my house.

Dr. Fletcher

Everything in your house?

Helen

Every object. Every object that's about this big.

(gestures)

And I don't know if this has to do with any childhood memories. I was trying to recall the relationships I had with the objects in my house as a child but -

Dr. Fletcher

Well, it's interesting that you bring that up because I actually have had a number of patients who have had sequences of dreams that are similar to this.

Helen

Really?

Dr. Fletcher

Nonsense dreams. Yeah. And unfortunately it's a sign of a decline in mental stability. I've actually had to have a number of patients committed after they came to me with dreams like this, because it's usually a sign that things are on a pretty fast decline.

Helen

Oh. Well anyway, there's this guy at work...
