[X] Helen - Session#56 Transcript

Helen

I keep having this dream in which I'm in the City, I'm in Times Square, and I see on a ticker - it says that my father died.

Dr. Fletcher

Oh, my.

Helen

So I have to get home. So I try to hail a cab - I try to hail a hundred cabs and I can't get one.

Dr. Fletcher

(writing notes) You normally need to tell patients that their dreams are significant. But in this case, once again, Helen's dream was ripped off straight from Freud - with the setting changed, of course, from a European village to modern-day Manhattan.

Helen

So I decide to walk home and I start walking. But then the Puerto Rican Day parade comes and I can't get through all these Puerto Rican people. And then I wake up and I can't talk.

Dr. Fletcher

Wow, huh.

Helen

I keep thinking about this dream. I was at the office the other day and I was in the copy room making copies. And then one of my coworkers comes in, this Puerto Rican guy. It totally reminds me of the dream. And I start actually having the same reaction -I can't speak. I'm just kind of staring at him. I have this feeling - I can't talk.

He starts making chit-chat with me but I can't saying anything. It's very awkward. And he's a really great guy. I mean, we talk all the time. I couldn't communicate verbally so I touched his arm and then one thing just kind of led to another. We started messing around and then we had sex - in the copy room.
